Not to be confused with Humans.
In the world of Elemental, the term Men (capitalized as a proper noun) does not refer to adult make Humans, but rather a species of humanoid creatures that were formed by the essence of Draginol on Anthys. Like the other flora and fauna that resembles the native wildlife of Earth, such as wolves and trees, Men were a result of the unconscious Mithrilar Draginol's essence bleeding out into the land and shaping its life in the image of Draginol's memories from when he was a human living on Earth.
Unlike humans, it is common for Men to live for centuries and all run a gamut of interaction with Magic from wielding it intentionally like Ereog to involuntarily nullifying it with their physical proximity like Xander.
Some Men interbred with the dwarves of Korrel and became the Ironeers.
The races of the Fallen were derived from Men, modified by Titans to serve their purposes. For example, the Quendar are hybrids of Men and Dragons.
While ethnic distinctions like Amarians and Mancers existed, all all on a single, mostly temperate continent. As such they did not form as much visual variety as the humans they were modeled off of, and mostly took the appearance of Western European humans. This also is likely influenced by Draginol's own former appearance when he was a human.
Eventually, the races of Men and Fallen would interbreed to form a new kind known as the Altarians, inheriting their blue skin from the Wraiths diffused by the natural tones of the Men of the Kingdoms as well as the Trogs and Urxen.
